Both candidates for Johnson County Board of County Commission Chair declared tonight during a public debate, that property owners have no decision in the future of their “property rights”.  Some how the original words “life, liberty and property” come to mind.  We can forget the substitution of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” because without property rights, what happiness can one find? http://kansas.watchdog.org/5312/candidate-forum-for-johnson-county-commission-chair/

Just a few observations, but where would a few “Bill of Rights” be without property rights?  Let’s take a look.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Bill_of_Rights

Ok, the candidates are right, I only mentioned four.  BUT THEY ARE THE FIRST FOUR! These acknowledge mistakes were made then as now.  Without “property rights” every right is at risk.

At least candidate Eilert was consistent with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY_MZW4-2ZY&feature=PlayList&p=8C5C812BEC5E1D19&index=13&playnext=1 but tonight Surbaugh flipped, compared to https://nolathe.net/2010/07/27/life-liberty-and-property/  what she declared during the primary debates.

Both JoCo Commission Chair Candidates are now fair game while debating “non-consensual”  (ever heard that before?) annexation without owners’ consent.  NOlathe withdraws endorsements.  Now, NOlathe also opposes Mr. Wood and Mr. Winn and almost anything Overland Park.

Yesterday’s post illustrated how most of the Kansas Senate Republicans are hypocritical  in their support of the Party Platform and against illegal immigration.  This posting takes it a step further and shows just how manipulative, coordinated and abusive much of their behavior has become.

During the debate of Kansas SB-458  Karin Brownlee offered this admendment “It shall be unlawful in the state of Kansas for any labor union or employee organization to knowingly impose or collect union dues from any alien who is not lawfully present in the United States.” (By accident or intent, this admendment would make it illegal for illegal immigrants to join or form a collective bargaining unit.)  This is how the vote went 3/26/08 (Clicking on the Senator’s name will give you access to how they voted on other issues.)  http://www.votesmart.org/issue_keyvote_member.php?cs_id=18471

Now I’ll admit and most of you will agree that I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.  It took me awhile to figure this one vote out until I compared it to the vote I posted yesterday on the SB-458 itself.  For the most part those that opposed the bill supported this admendment and vice versa.  Why?  Then the DUH moment!

If illegal immigrants were allowed to unionize and/or organize, they could negotiate better wages, benefits and eventually cease working via a strike.  Faced with that option, the employer might actually have to hire unemployed Americans.  In either event the employer would incur an increase in operation expenses and lesser profits.  This admendment basically guaranteed campaign contributors a continued source of cheap labor if SB-458 were to pass.  As with so many things political, this admendment had nothing to do with an oath of office.  Those pesky Constitutional things sure can get in the way, ah who cares?

We have identified nothing less than government sponsored sources complicit to “Human Trafficking” right here in Kansas.  Trafficking is a term to define the recruiting, harbouring, obtaining and transportation of a person by use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjecting them to involuntary acts, such as acts related to commercial sexual exploitation or involuntary labour. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forced_labor#Trafficking  What say you Kansas?

During the last several months, I can not think of one day when I turned on the news that the Arizona Immigration Law SB-1070 requiring enforcement of Federal Immigration Laws wasn’t in play somewhere.  A Time Capsule might look like this:

  • Localized demonstrations of illegals demanding the same rights as “other citizens”
  • Demonstrators denigrating the U.S. Flag and raising the Mexican National Flag
  • Boycotts of Arizona business and activities (even by schools)
  • Support for SB-1070 from other States (except Kansas)
  • President of Mexico files protest of discrimination
  • U.S. Attorney General files suit against Arizona (SB-1070)
  • U.S. Secretary of State complains to United Nations on SB-1070

Even here in Kansas we watched as Co-Author of SB-1070 and candidate for Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach invited America’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio to Olathe.  Following threats of protests the event was moved to a more secure facility in Overland Park and even there experienced protests and a bomb threat.

A ‘State summation’ of the bill reads “The bill would require all state officials, agencies, and personnel to fully comply with and support the enforcement of federal immigration laws. The bill would also require all law enforcement officers to inquire into the citizenship and immigration status of any person arrested for a violation of state law or municipal ordinance, regardless of the person’s national origin, ethnicity, or race. If an arrestee is determined to be an alien, the bill would require the officer to verify if the alien is lawfully present in the U.S. with the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and cooperate with any request made by ICE to detain or transfer the alien to the custody of the federal government. The bill would also prohibit any official or agent of a state, county, or city law enforcement agency from being restricted from information regarding any individual or exchanging the information with any other federal, state, or local government agency. Also, the bill would prohibit state, county, or city law enforcement agencies from discouraging officers to ask individuals their citizenship or immigration status.”

So what does all this have to do with Kansas and why would I chose to write about it again as I have clearly shown in previous postings that our Kansas elected government is very pro-illegal immigration?  Well, once again a reader of NOlathe has supplied some great material to pursue but please first read these two posts as preparation:

  1. https://nolathe.net/2010/02/17/kansas-senate-funds-illegal-immigration/
  2. https://nolathe.net/2010/02/18/topeka-the-ultimate-one-party-town/

Let’s start with the ‘State summation’ above, it was written by Duane A. Goossen, Kansas Director of the Budget on February 27, 2008 regarding Kansas SB-458.  http://www.kslegislature.org/fiscalnotes/2008/458.pdf  Huh?  I thought we were talking about illegal immigration enforcement in Arizona?  How did we end up here?  Well, two years before Kris Kobach co-authored Arizona SB-1070 he co-authored Kansas SB-458.  Wait until you see who testified in opposition of Kansas SB-458 http://www.kslegislature.org/bills/2008/458.pdf  I think one could easily predict “lawn care”, “construction”, “law firm” companies and any organization with Hispanic in the title to be listed in opposition. (NOTE: January 2011 Kansas implemented new digital system making all “links” to previous documents non-operatable.  Try this http://reformkansaslaws.wordpress.com/2008/02/19/sb-458-the-illegal-immigration-relief-act/ )

We find that Kansas cities (League of Kansas Municipalities), Johnson County Board of Commissioners, Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and the Social Security Administration are PRO-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION?  Okey, it’s still up to a vote, so how did our Kansas Senators vote on SB-458?  The Kansas Senate with a Republican Majority must surely respect the Kansas Republican Party Platform and vote in support of SB-458 right?

Medically there is significant difference between the words ‘disease’ and ‘syndrome’ both in diagnosis and treatment.  A disease is an illness diagnosed as a result of both positive and negative test results of the patient.  A syndrome is an illness diagnosed by an accumulation of symptoms as described by the patient.  This distinction is extremely critical in determining a successful treatment regimen.

Let’s look at the flu.  Yes, the influenza virus is considered as an infectious disease http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virus_disease

Patient Adam walks in to the emergency room complaining of muscle aches, high fever and nauseous.  The doctor treats the symptoms with Tylenol and Pepto.   Adam develops pneumonia and dies one week later.

Patient Bubba walks in to the emergency room complaining of muscle aches, high fever and nauseous.  The doctor looks past the symptoms and treats the disease with anti-biotics and fluids.  Bubba misses three days of work and promises to get a flu shot next year.

We know that ‘Rinosis’ spreads through human contact, to what extent has not yet been quantified.  We know that ‘Rinosis’ is unique to humans, other animals do not have enough intelligence to lie.  Psychologists argue that ‘Rinosis’ is not a medical condition at all but rather a behavioral issue.  Unfortunately, this debate may continue for years.  Whether medical or behavioral, the best known treatment today is to keep the diseased in isolation.

Patient Adam is the Kansas Republican Party.  Symptoms normally include but not limited to “voting for the lesser of two evils” and “holding their feet to the fire” and “vote the party line” comments. Convictions and moral conduct are easily swayed by the wind and more importantly sources of money making them untrustworthy and without Hope, Faith or Charity.  Just greed and indulgence of self satisfaction.  Self justification on voting for a known “rino” is the typical indicator of onset for this disease but the releif is only temporary.

Patient Bubba is an in-law once removed from the Kansas Republican Party.  Years ago, Bubba helped write the Party Platform and today enjoys a disease free conscience and moral standing in the neighborhood and church.  Bubba prays for the deliverance of Adam and visits when possible, as do all members of the TEA Party Movement.
