Well, I just found the Federal Government’s version of those stupid pictures. A new chart by the Center for Health Transformation (an organization that tries to unveil the idiocy of ObamaCare to the public) reveals the unprecedented 1,968 new and expanded powers given to Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius under the health reform law. From powers over access to drugs and insurance coverage to care delivery processes and changes to Medicare, the chart reveals the 1,968 grants of new and expanded powers to the secretaries of Departments of Labor, Treasury and Health and Human Services. The overwhelming majority, however, will fall under HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Examples of the 1,968 new and expanded powers include:
· The Secretary will now identify, as appropriate, categories and classes of drugs that the Secretary determines are of “clinical concern” (Section 3307);
· The Secretary will decide how drugs are dispensed in long-term care facilities (Section 3310);
· The Secretary will develop oral healthcare components, including “tooth-level-surveillance,” a clinical examination of every dental surface in the mouth (Section 4102);
· The Secretary may establish insurance premium ratings for states (Section 1201);
At first, I was extremely worried that such an overwhelming amount of absolute powers related to one of the most critical components of Americans’ lives (healthcare) would be granted wholly and specifically to one person. I mean, isn’t that like something you’d find in Venezuela or Cuba. But when I heard it was former Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius I sighed a huge sigh of relief. Who better to be the gatekeeper of me and my children’s future health and prosperity than a life-long politician with not a shred of medical background in her resume and whose entire family has been entrenched in politics, catering to leftist liberal organizations like the AFL-CIO and other left-wing groups? Why should there be any suspicion or concern that Sebelius’s father was a part of the House of Representatives in 1964 when Medicare was passed, or that Sebelius was the chief lobbyist for the American Trial Lawyers Association, an organization that lobbies on behalf of ambulance-chasers which is a key reason our healthcare costs are as high as they are?
My apologies if you didn’t catch the sarcasm. Folks, it’s like we’re living in the Twilight Zone but not even Rod Serling could come up with something this whacked. If anyone has been paying attention lately, The HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, has granted over 773 exemptions to companies and organizations since the new healthcare law came into effect. That means those companies are completely exempted from being subject to the law. One of the organizations that has been granted an exemption is the SEIU, the 31,000 union-member organization which contributed over $27 million to Obama’s presidential campaign. Yes, $27 million. Oddly enough, the SEIU was one of the biggest proponents for healthcare reform but for some reason they get a get-out-of-jail-free card from the very law they spent $27 million trying to get passed. I have little comprehension as to how some people are blind to the fact that our great nation is headed in a perilous direction and I have no tolerance of those who believe the contrary.
Just for kicks, I’ve attached the chart that details all of the powers that are delegated to HHS Secretary Sebelius. It provides a stark illustration of the mayhem that is ObamaCare. But be warned, it will make you cross-eyed.
